Projection Mapping done by the Communication Batch of 202, NID AP under the guidance of Sekhar Mukherjee and Francois Chalet as a part of Chitrakatha 2023.

Bhayanak directly translates to ‘something terrible’, ‘terrifying’. For this Rasa, we brainstormed together all things that terrified us and it boiled down to the feeling of being watched- at a primal level and at a societal level.

The Process
The performer/ protagonist walks onto the stage and begins his 1 minute walk in loops on the stage. He constantly feels like he is being watched as eyes pop out unpredictably and stare at him unsettlingly throughout. He is so distracted by this recurring stimulus that it drives him insane to a point that he loses track of his path and collapses.
Towards the end, a gigantic eye reappears to stare at the audience before the stage transcends into a blackout.
The final film
The projection mapping on the designated building.
The test run on the mapped space.
The Navarasas
